gst, someone who apparently is pals with the Snarker's much beloved Nate Oman, is guest blogging over at Nine Moons, and he certainly has a much better developed sense of humor than our beloved O. Unfortunately for him, his blatant, and rather amusing, attempt at satire largely falls flat when a bunch of humorless whiners collect themselves and complain the comparison is unfair. Come on people, does he have to put up a blinking bold italics underlined warning with a big arrow <<--- pointing at the less-than-serious part?
The best is when the alleged founder of The Millennium Group comes in to "shame shame shame" all Mormons in existence for acting this way. It has got to be someone parody posting, mocking all the humorless whiners, as the individual, who is allegedly not LDS, says they thought it was "an LDS blog" not a "a Mormon blog" and then calls it "the Church". How many non-LDS persons refer to the Church as "the Church"? None. It is probably gst.

That is the catch-22, Rusty. Kill the joke and fend off the whiners, or keep the joke intact and deal with the whiners. You cannot win.
So I guess DKL is off limits, but our aging prophet is fair game...

I don't remember anyone comparing the prophet to Hitler, but if I'd heard it, I would have said a lot more than I did. If you're talking about War Weary, I think I put up a pretty good fight with him. Not a very dignified one, but still...boy could I take him, too. I'd even give him my address.
If I were to compare DKL to somebody, it would be a smarter Archie Bunker, not Hitler. He didn't kill anybody, for God's sake, he just said some objectionable words. He's a smart ass (although my friend, the smart ass), not a mass murderer.
And let me say something else. I like gst. I don't know gst, but this is a cool person (don't know if it's him or her).
The comparison wasn't funny. I don't need a joke explained. I have a funny gene. I can laugh at myself first and loudest. If it had been funny, I would so have laughed and thought, "gotcha David."
You got war weary over there calling me a murderer (which in my heart, I am, oh well forget that).
What about a comparison of DKL to Maude? Or somebody smart but obnoxious. I think I should be compared to that girl on Grey's Anatomy. Sandra Oh. I so love her. I can only think of onery women to compare David with. I will ponder.
