FMH is featured in this month's issue of Bust magazine, which self-describes as follows:

BUST is a groundbreaking women's lifestyle magazine that is unique in its ability to connect with bright, cutting-edge young women. With an attitude that is fierce, funny, and proud to be female, BUST's revolutionary editorial mix addresses a refreshing variety of women's interests, including pop culture, music, crafting, fashion, sex, news, and celebrity interviews. Hip, humorous, and honest, BUST is a cheeky celebration of all things female and a trusted authority on up-and-coming trends among young women.
They have been cutting edge hawt grrl trendy in a stereotype smashing way since 1993. So stereotype smashing that the only "feminist" who has heard of them before now is John "FMHLisa swoons for me" Remy, and he...errr...ahhh...ummmm...reads it for the articles. In other words, it is not a feminist mag, at all, it is pop culture effluvia for grrrls (and Suicide Girls oglers), and John goes into Borders and reads it all the time, but does not usually buy it, except this time, because it features FMH (if he bought it monthly, why wouldn't he save the money and time and subscribe and help them stay in business?)

OK, so FMH is a trend-breaker because it is "Mormon and Feminist", and is therefore a square peg, a walking contradiction. Well, there you have it. And that means they can eschew wisdom and cozy up to the world. Congratulations, grrrls, when Jesus tells the woman caught in adultery to "go and sin no more", you are keeping company with people who say "adultery is no more sin". Maybe you can get Chloe "Brown Bunny" Sevigny to autograph your courtesy copy.

SP,
Come on, man, give the ladies a break for once.

They get every break they deserve. Bragging on yourself is lame, no matter how often T&S does it. Word would have gotten out without FMHLisa posting it herself. But, no, she has got to brag on it. I don't see ZD or Ex2 bragging on themselves.

Throw in a heaping helping of responding-in-kind brown-nosery, and you have a snarkworthy post.

Why, anonymous, should they get a pass on this one?

Well...

My paranoid delusion that SP and the crew here are a cult of Bruce R. McConkie worshiping vampires has been proven.

All Hail BRM!!!

You couldn't be more wrong, or more stupid.

Now shut up and pass the blood.

Hey now, cut Lisa a break. SAHM receive little-to-nothing in the way of recognition, and she isn't publicizing herself so much as the article.

BTW, there's no sucking up to "the world" in the article, at least not by us. And the author actually did a pretty nice job of treating our faith with respect.

The photo of me, however, bears absolutely no relation to the way I actually look. I am vain and I admit it: that is NOT ME, not not not! I swear! (sob).

And who wants hard and pointy Madonna-esque ruby-boobs anyhow? Your title implies our breasts make us unwise. We may be unwise (I occasionally am), but it ain't our lovely curves that would be at fault, guys. Seriously, could ya cut out the totally sexist titles? I admit we're snarkable on this one, but leave our anatomy out of it.

Your photo does remind me of an office I once worked in which was (kidding you not)littered with loose breast implants. (Note: not loose women with breast implants, just the implants themselves.) Turns out they are really fun to juggle.

Janet,

The magazine's name is "BUST" and their website is pervy and prominently features salacious breasty content, hence the bewbies thing. And "bewbies" rhymes with "rubies", per Psalms 8:11. How is that "sexist" when you are the ones agreeing to be featured by them and they self-identify in such a manner?

SP--ah yes, I see your point (adoption snags have gotten me a little on edge). I had thought you were referring to the FMH folks as lacking wisdom but having breasts. Mea Culpa.

I'll admit the mag's name took me off guard as well--it seems more like a Maxim-esque title. But then, "Ms." was already taken.

Anyhow, sorry for misplacing the pun's target.

Um, try Proverbs.

I'd be flustered, too, with all the bewbie talk. Those are some fine gems.

Oooooops. Sorry.
