In a press release, members of the Utah Gay Rodeo Association stated they would continue to shoot beef cattle in protest of Utah Theaters dropping Brokeback Mountain from their play lists.
The press release stated, "If they won't let us watch a movie about us, then we won't let them eat the steaks, chops or burgers we produce! Nobody is going to ride roughshod over us without paying the price."
It was overheard at the press conference, "You know, the funny thing is, if those effing Mormons obeyed their own Word of Wisdom, then there wouldn't even be any Gay Cowboys in Utah anyway, because nobody would eay meat! Idiots."

Wow.
I met a gay cowboy once. A gay cowboy priest actually. It was on a hippie bus I rode from San Francisco to New York one summer. When the rest of the bus was out skinny dipping, my friend and I overheard him whining to his cat in the dark, "oh Edrick!! Why are we here??"
I guess you had to be there.
lol!
the funnies part of all of this is that the movie is playing in provo. i guess the slc folks are too lazy to drive down to byu land.
The dead cows thing really bothers me. They were going to end up dead anyway, of course...but not like that! If they were freeing the cows, I'd blame it on PETA. But shooting the animals is not exactly their style.
Johnson says it was a massacre and he describes it as a terroristic act.
I think that the destruction of property and animal life in this story is terrible. I don't think it was terrorism. Oddly, Utah has a statue that attaches special penalties to crimes against animals because these crimes are assumed to have a political content but no hate crimes statue for terroristic acts against groups of people.
this is the only good mormon blog. long may it live
Congratulations, Snarker! You've been selected to appear in the debut of Bloggernaccle Theater.
P.S. (though, you may need to wait until Act II)
