“Righteous” and “Justified” are not synonyms.

But you would never know this from reading Times and Seasons. How many times have you heard, “I am right, and you are wrong” there? Guess what? You are in no position to sit there and self-righteously criticize people. All we can tell is how petty you are. For all we know, you could be thinking about torturing bunnies. Being justified is more than just finding fault.

I don’t think this is a semantic quibble. A kid who watches their parent mercilessly attack others, especially ladies who already have full plates at both home and school and are just trying to manage a group of unruly kids and keep things positive, will develop a very strange idea as to what it means to be righteous.

Please: just thank the T&S permabores for being quiet or ask them to be quiet.

P.S., Maybe when you become bishop, you can round up all the people who preach "reverence" instead of "quiet" so they would be facing a church court for conduct unbecoming a disciple of Christ.

This is not a snark! It sounds like ... shudder ... a BLOGGERNACLE POST!!!

The Snarker is, that permabores might fall. Permabores fall, that Bloggerhaters might have joy. But it ain't joy if we're not laughing.

Put a smile on this mug, c'mon...

WEIRED. WEIRED POST.

Finally- a legitimate grievance instead of mere petty mocking! Nothing wrong with airing legitimate grievances, but there is a world of hurt when it is just mocking people's lesser moments to get a few cheap laughs, which usually seems to be the case around here.

Bravo, snarker bunch! This post just sounds bitter rather than cruel and mean-spirited. A step up!

I think that Julie's post might just be the last one I ever read at T&S. Yuck!

Sadly, I was that child who sat at church, feigning reverence, while actually thinking about torturing bunnies--chocolate bunnies.

If only my parents had let me take the Pez dispenser to church with me, I might be a different person today. Instead, I was the little boy who dreamed of eating Peter Cottontail while sitting quietly in primary. Oh, the humanity!!!

Yay, people who hate us still read us! Which makes no sense. Cool!

Sorry, whiners. We post what we like, when we like, how we like. Call the Wahmbulance if you don't like it.

Snarkette:

We know you do. You post what you like no matter how cruel, damaging, mean or insensitive. Because, hey, that's the kind of person you are.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ September 25, 2006 at 9:50 AM

Yup, you are sooooo right. If I could only be sensitive, charitable and kind...like you.

Anonymous said... @ September 25, 2006 at 10:31 AM

Ack. I really don't know how to respond to this.

I want to be charitible and kind. But how does a charitible and kind person respond to someone who constantly gets pleasure out of mocking and deriding others? I have sat back and watched it happen since Kurt first started snarking, and I have had enough.

I know, I know, I can just stop reading. And I should. But it still irks me to no end that there are sadistic people who really get happy over causing mental anguish for others. Call me a hypocrite as you will, but it really, really puzzles me that such a person can make a claim on following Jesus.

How can someone claim to be living up to their covenants to bear other people's burdens, comfort those who need it, etc., while subjecting others to such spiteful derision and mockery?

I am not perfect or even close to it- I wish I could just let this slide, again, without saying anything. But I am sick of sadistic, two-faced so-called Latter-day Saints who take pleasure out of humiliating their fellow man. People like you, Snarkette.

Perhaps I am the same way as you suggest, but I did not open and publish a weblog which constantly insults people and causes others to laugh at them too. I'm just a person who is sick and tired of people pointing their fingers and laughing at others. Of course, if I point it out I am just a hypocrite.

How, how, how do you reconcile your meanness online with the kindness and gentleness required for discipleship?

Perhaps you think me unkind to point these things out, like I am going for the mote when I have a beam. But I, unlike you, am not deriving some sick sadistic pleasure from it. I've just had enough.

First off, stop posting anonymously, and we'll talk to you as a peer rather than as the anonymous troll.

Second, stop being such a hypocrite. You are one of the most judgemental, arrogant and mean people on the Bloggernacle. Some of your posts on the Nacle have caused way more pain and misery than anything we have done. I can think of one in particular that is infamous for its racor. And, yet, you sit there and judge us. Wow. I guess the difference between us is we don't take ourselves seriously, and you do.

I wasn't insulted by Julie's post so much as I just thought it was trivial unimportant, and boring.

Anonymous said... @ September 25, 2006 at 12:54 PM

I guess the difference between us is we don't take ourselves seriously, and you do.

That is precisely the problem. You should take yourself seriously. Other people do. You are causing people a world of hurt with your "funny" snarks. I can't believe you don't see it. It is this characteristic which leads me to believe that you must truly be insensitive to the tender feelings of others.

And I know that you claim to have a "100% take-down" rate for people who e-mail you, but taking something down quietly after it has already been read by our peers is not enough. You have already done the damage by posting the hurtful thing- it does not help to simply remove it quietly after it has already been up.

You are hurting people. Can't you see that?

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ September 25, 2006 at 6:15 PM

Not so anonymous troll,

Why is it that people have to be concerned about your feelings, when you care not one whit about other people's feelings. Why is it that you can trample other people under your feet, and yet you expect preferential treatment and to be handled with kid gloves. Sorry, you aren't all that, girl. You get what you give, and what you give is a lot of accusations, vitriol and venom. And then when someone has the nerve, the unmitigated gall, to point your gross hypocrisy out, you go all to pieces. Girl, you get what you give. And you hurt people. When was the last time you apologized for all the pain you have dished out?

Anonymous said... @ September 25, 2006 at 7:07 PM

I do not remember ever having insulted anyone in the bloggernacle. In fact, I have hardly posted at all for over a year.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ September 25, 2006 at 7:45 PM

Lets keep the anonymous trolls straight shall we? Lets not muddy the waters with more than one anonymous troll in an effort to get someone off the hook they got themselves on. You are just playing games now.

The only persons feelings you are concerned about are your own, hence your willingness to lash out at others yet be offended when you are targeted. It doesn't work that way. You reap what you sew. And the only time you get up in arms is when its your fat on the fryer. Sure, you can feign concern for others, but that isn't the real issue, now is it. Its all about you.

Anonymous said... @ September 25, 2006 at 7:50 PM

I am very curious to know who it is you think you are talking to. Cause I can almost guarantee you have no idea who I am.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ September 25, 2006 at 7:58 PM

OK, anonymous comments are blocked because we have more than one anonymous troll to deal with. Yay! It'll be turned back off when the anonymous trolls go away.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ September 26, 2006 at 5:03 AM

Guy Murray, you were banned a while ago for trolling, along with DKL and SKL. You know this. Any comments you post will be deleted. We don't troll your blog, don't troll ours. Thanks.

T&S and Julie Smith sent me over the edge at least a year ago. I saw the reverence vs quiet post and thought to myself Julie's at it again. What is her power over some that she can write such condescending crap and be loved for it. it is beyond me. She'll never be bishop but if she plays her cards right, maybe general relief society president. just imagine the rules imposed at that time!
