Kaimi thinks all of the Women's History Month posts at FMH prove FMH isn't frivilous. Oh, really?

Lets take a look at who is posting so far:

Ronan (of BCC)
Julie M. Smith (of T&S)
Kiskillilli (of Z's D's, which beat FMH in the Niblets)
Margaret Toscano (no blog)
Heather O. (of MMW)
Julie M. Smith (of T&S)
Todd Compton (no blog)
Sorry, Kaimi, but a month of guest posts by people who are not FMHers only serves to prove that FMH is, in fact, frivilous. Because once April rolls around, guess what? Back to the same old, same old.

Yeah, Kaimi, if FMH could just get a few more guest bloggers from BCC and T&S this month, maybe that would prove FMH can carry their own. Which is why Kaimi will be mitigating some of his severe man-guilt over having XY chromosomes by posting this week to FMH talking about how he wishes he were a woman.

Update:Apparently this is an example of the kind of non-frivolous "fun story" that Kaimi likes there at FMH. Another stunning gem in the FMH catalog of substance and style. I personally cannot wait for Ardis, Margaret or Julie to post there on T&S about the kicky pair of cute, red sling backs they picked up over the weekend.

Hopefully Mr. and Mrs. Wegner will do a combined post at FMH on their sex life.

Now that's a one-line post I'd be sure not to miss!!

"We don't have time!" would be the headline and lead.

Yeah, between Kaimipony's blogging (LDS and law related), grading papers and propping up FMH, I'm not sure Kami has time for making whoopee.

Also, I'm not sure I want to read about sex and fondue in the same story...do you???

Kaimi thinks FMH is in superlative form for WHM. What form are they in for the other 11 months? On April Fool's day, expect another play by play account of a diaper change, or a two hundred comment thread on why the prophet is out to lunch because he is anti-masturbation.

The simple fact that they had to go outside their customary circle to get something with some substance tells you all you need to know about their regular offerings. Instead of putting the argument about FMH frivolity to rest, it underscores and emphasizes it.

These sorry attempts at legitimacy are actually a little embarrassing to watch.

This one was such a gimme, I am beginning to think AnneGB was right and that Kaimi is The Snarker.

evidence that FMH isn't frivilous: it has been over a year now since artemis decided to broadcast to the world that she likes saying bow-wow in bed.

evidence that FMH is frivilous: Every month or so we get the same tired old post about why the church sucks because it doesn't teach the mia maids how to masturbate.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ March 13, 2007 at 6:27 AM

Since the Church doesnt teach Mia Maid Masturbation, they criticize it for not being with the times. If the Church did teach it, they would criticize it for being a bunch of dirty old men. Their goal is to criticize, and no matter what happens, they will find an excuse.

What is even more nauseating is the fact that Kaimi is deleting all the critical comments from his T&S thread while leaving all the fawning, ingratiating ones. Gee, FMHLisa, what a surprise, you kiss his butt when he kisses yours. Pucker up, suckers.

Note to all Bloggernaclers: If you want to get play on T&S, pucker up and kiss Kaimi's kiester. Vile.

I enjoyed his not-so-subtle dig at the Niblets. Sure, WHM is an important issue. No, it does not put FMH on par with T&S and BCC.

We didn't have to wait until April 1st. The breastfeeding thread has devolved into an argumentative, childish snit about who said what. If somebody doesn't put that thread out if its misery we will have a hundred more comments that sound like this:

Julie M. Smith: that's dumb.
Not Ophelia: Oh, how nice of you to call me dumb, thank you sooo very much.
FMHLisa: Julie, you don't necessarily have a right to call someone dumb.
Julie: How many times do I have to tell you? I didn't say anyone was dumb!!!

Maybe this is what Kaimi had in mind when he said FMH wasn't frivolous.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

Your update might have been a little better if you'd read beyond the first paragraph (I know that's asking a lot), since mutilation in the name of cultural beauty standards actually is sort of non-frivolous.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ March 15, 2007 at 4:58 AM

Anonymous, I did read past the first paragraph. Read all the comments too. Thanks.

The point is the post by LAGirrrl was actually non-frivolous, but was not "fun" and how Kaimi could characterize it as such makes reason stare (how is a woman's feet being bound and modern correlations thereof "fun"?).

Why was it an FMH gem? Look at the comments, where people lash out at the LDS church as being pornified and perverted. Classy. A discussion on subjective notions of beauty in Western Culture is used by a bitter commentator to attack the LDS church. An example of why FMH will never rise up above where they are. You have a small percentage of substantive posts made there that get swamped by bitter people who use any tangential reason whatsoever to attack and malign the LDS church. These bitter people are there not because of the small minority of substantive posts, but because of the great majority of frivolous posts in an environment that does encourage people to lash out at the LDS church and anything Mormon.

What would be an actual "fun story" would be Ardis, Margaret or Julie posting at T&S about a pair of shoes they picked up over the weekend. But, I can only imagine Margaret wearing something like red sling backs. Ardis almost certainly wears sensible leather flats no matter the occasion and Julie either wears sneakers or Danskos or nylon sandals. I would love for Kaimi to explain how this story is "fun". "Fun" just makes no sense at all. And wasn't Kaimi the only man to comment on this post? Maybe Kaimi has a little foot thing going on, and that is what is "fun"? I really don't know.

Forgive me for being obtuse, anonymous, but sometimes trying to make sense of things that don't make sense comes out odd.

Someone at FMH deleted the comment about the LDS Church being pornified. Surprising.

At this moment, FMH is the most courageous blog on the Nacle. They are asking the tough questions without flinching.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ March 16, 2007 at 5:00 PM

Hellmutt,

Most courageous? Tough questions? Coming from an exmo, that says a lot.

annegb said... @ March 18, 2007 at 5:08 PM

Geez, Kurt, you're coming off like a misogynist. Geez, that's harsh. Red Shoes is a good post. Who the hell bit your butt?

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ March 19, 2007 at 6:19 AM

Ann,

Throwing an awful lot of mud at Kurt, aren't you? Still bitter about the Niblets? You know what they say about throwing stones.

annegb said... @ March 19, 2007 at 8:20 AM

You're not Kurt?

If you are, your continued harping on FMH makes you come off a lot more bitter than I am.
