Rusty, the most metrosexual Mormon in the Bloggernacle has been having a tough time getting people to read his blog, mostly because the permas there aren't posting. So, in an effort to be even more in-your-face cutting edge, he blows Staper's white man's guilt out of the water by signing up the very first ever totally-out-of-the-closet Mormon Gay Man as a perma. Hey, wow, now there is some traffic generating controversy.

Come on, Rusty Flintstone, trying to be cutting edge is so last century. I mean, really, you already wear more eyeliner than Brandon Flowers, everyone knows Kaimi is just too scared to come out of the closet, and BCC and FMH regularly hug gays. The only thing 9M has is that Silus is out, but how "out" since Silus Grok is a pseudonym. Hellmut or Ann could easily one-up 9M by signing Nick Literski or MikeInWeHo. Then what?

Sorry, Fred, the Great Gazoo says you are digging in the wrong quarry. Bloggernacle Hipness is not accomplished by flouting the Big Blogs and collecting permas like trading cards. Content is king, nifty logos are Ikea. Keep trying.

Totally agree! On the plus side though, the trading cards were at least funny.

I never understand why people like Rusty whine about their permas not posting. Since most of what they post is so lame, they should thank their lucky stars and shut up until their permas actually come up with something decent.

Great idea, Snark. I will drop Mike an e-mail right away!

Interesting how you lined up the tone of Main Street and TCH future gay permas with our own blog angles. Why, one would think you actually read TCH!

Oh, Ann, what makes you think I don't read it? Because I don't comment there? I don't comment at...blech...T&S either, doesn't mean I don't read...blech...T&S. Seriously, I would rather read you and Hellmutt than Kaimi and Adam any day of the week.

Oh, snap, even Ann doesn't want Nick.

Ann, stay away from my draft picks! I want 'em both.

Hey, I LOVE Nick. But we have A Tone and a Vision at TCH, and Nick is too critical of the church to be an effective Perma there. MikeinWeHo, on the other hand, is just exactly the kind of perma I'd like to add. Unfortunately, now that Snark has linked him with Gay Permabloggers, I'm reluctant to invite him. Great guy, good insights, good writer. I'd hate for him to think we invited him just because he's gay. That's lame.

As for your reading preferences, Snark, well, thanks, I think. I personally enjoy reading both Kaimi's and Adam, because they're fine writers. Although Adam's opinions are a little too cultural conservative/Iron Rod for my taste, I overlook that just because he says them so well. Typical NOM, I am...style is just as important as substance.

Helmutt, it's all going to be about who can come up with a better offer. I would be willing to bet you can't match the world's best food and Mardi Gras.

hmmm...

Well, there goes my theory...

Ann, holy cow, give me a break. Like we branded him "gay". Go yell at Rusty for playing the gay card. If you like him, then do it, regardless.

Nick is definitely more up Hullmutt's alley.

As for Kaimi and Adam, if you like them, it is your thing. Some people think FMH is great and actually listen to Yanni and John Tesch There is no accounting for taste. I won't hold it against you.

Ann said... @ October 24, 2007 at 8:27 PM

Snark, babe, I didn't mean at all that you'd labeled them "gay posters." Sorry if I misspoke.

Also, FMH .not. equals Yanni and John Tesch. I'm thinking FMH is more like Green Day, Nirvana, and Jimmy Buffett. If we weren't crazy we'd all go insane, ya know.

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ October 25, 2007 at 4:27 AM

Green Day, Nirvana, and Jimmy Buffett = 3 band things I do not listen to.

FMH = 1 blog that I wish I didn't have to read.

Actually, FMH is more like KD Lang, Shawn Colvin and Melissa Etheridge.

Kaimi and Adam are more like Yani and Tesch.

Hellmutt is like light beer that's been left in the sun.
