A few weeks ago Kim Seiver asked people to tell him what they thought of him so he could re-create his online self. Hey, it looks like Kim and Mary found their calling as the heralds of all things Canadian and Olympic, filling the Nacle with every Canadian medal win and even when Canadian expats win medals for Australia. Owing to the huge number of Canadians in the Nacle, the blogging is eagerly lapped up by all the ... Americans, who complain about it rather vocally. And, so, they delete all of the Olympic stuff, and return to being "Our Thoughts (with the exception of Canadian Olympic Medals)". Looks like Kim needs to keep looking for that new online persona.

It's all a conspiracy by Dastardly Dave. Our Thoughts drowns out box 4 showing the need for a customizable aggregator. Note the LDSelect logo at Our Thoughts....

Jack Bauer,

We're tinkinering with a feature that limits blogs to 3-4 posts per day at the MA portal. The complaints have not gone unnoticed.

I might recommend taking it down to 1 post per day in the window.

Including Snarkernacle!

it's all Kim. He just forgets to log me out.

Just to show I can whine too, I am also a Box 4 aggrieved party.

Geoff, my 2 cents worth would be a 2 post per day limit.

kim's looking into how he can make the side blog a seperate feed. so be patient.

Actually, I am looking how I can create a separate feed for MA, not a separate feed for the sideblog. After all, they are still legitimate posts.

That being said, the extra posts we've been adding to the OT sideblog hasn't really made much difference in the representation of that box. We've been dominating it for awhile. Not saying it's good or bad. It just is.

I agree with the decision to limit posts. OT certainly isn't the only culprit here (e.g. Mormon Wasp, LDS and Mormon Blogs, Snarkernackle, etc).

And I have to say, snarker, I am disappointed. Surely there has been much more snark-worthy content at OT recently than this little spat.

And for the record, it's I before E. I can send you an email if you want so you can cut-n-paste in the future.

I have nothing against letting a group blog post four or five times a day, if they are all real posts. The only reason I complained about Kim's was because they were just links to news articles with zero comment. I didn't realize that they were from his sideblog.

oh and MY calling isn't even related to blogging...mothering takes up most/all of my time.

At the same time, NF, many of the sideblog links have garnered comments and discussion. For what that's worth.

Well, Kim, if you think there is something snarkworthy in the Nacle, then why aren't you sending me tips, eh? What, you're too fashionable to wear a MStP t-shirt!?!?!?

Anonymous said... @ February 17, 2006 at 8:49 PM

Send you tips about our own blog? You're not asking me to cross the floor are you?

Response to Jodi Stoddard said... @ February 18, 2006 at 8:56 PM

Why, yes, Kim Seever, I am asking you to cross the floor.

*note the deliberate bad spellin of your last name, since you failed to e-mail me the correct spellin so I could cut and paste it

You didn't ask for the email, and I will never rat on our team.
